• Biography: From Decndent of John Shelton by Robert and Harold Casey. WILLIAM ELIJAH SHELTON (1.5.2.1) is the son of Nathaniel Shelton and Martha Elizabeth (Potter) Shelton. William was born on December 30, 1859 in Alabama. On February 19, 1882, William Shelton married Irena Jane Venable (1.7.1.1). Irena was born on November 22, 1863 in Alabama and is the daughter of William J. Venable and Mary (Shelton) Venable. William and Irena Shelton were the parents of at least ten children:
