Bio: Morrison Mantor, who was chief boatswain's mate in the Navy for years, died at his home, 1414 Martin Street, yesterday after a long illness. He was born in Syracuse November 1, 1891, son of Jean Scott and the late George Mantor, but for most of his life he had lived in Utica. In April 1907, he enlisted in the Navy and served 14 years. During the World War he was on the Delaware and spent 18 months engaged in mine sweeping. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and of Sayer Memorial Church and Sunday School. June 26, 1919, he married Miss Lucy Hartery of New Founland. Besides his widow and mother, both of this city, he leaves two children, Lucy and James Mantor of Utica; two brothers, George of Syracuse and Floyd of Utica, the latter a war veteran and two sisters, Mrs. E. W. Lockwood of Syracuse and Mrs. Helen Zorn of Utica.Published in the Utica Daily Press (Utica, NY), Wednesday, December 18, 1929
