Roswell Beckwith, a Baptist minister, officiating (War of 1812 Bounty Land Warrant #77894-160-55), RHODA BALDWIN; b. c. 1783; d. aft. 1860. On 19 Jun 1855, Rhoda Wells Warner, age 71, a resident of Painesville, Lake Co., Ohio, applied for a bounty land based on the service of her first husband in the War of 1812. She stated that he was a private under Capt. Stephens Gifford in the 76th Regiment of New York Militia (War of 1812 Bounty Land W/arrant #77894-160-55).He enlisted 28 Feb 1813 and finished his service 7 Mar 1813 (Welles (1968) 3:53). The 1850 federal census shows David Warner, age 74, b. Connecticut, and Rhoda Warner, age 68, b. New York, living in the household of E. D. Warner in Madison Dist. No. 85, Lake Co., Ohio (NARA series M-432, reel 701, p. 126A). The 1860 federal census finds Rhoda Warner, age 76, b. Connecticut, living in the household of Duty Slocum in Painesville, Lake Co., Ohio (NARA series M-653, reel 996, p. 250B).
