904. Widow Hannah (Smith) Gleason, dau. of Gideon, who d. Oct. 9, 1778, ae. 44. He m. (3) No. 905.

905. Widow Anna (Stanley) Pitkin, b. Jan. 17, 1740, dau. of William and Clemence (Olmsted) Stanley of East Hartford. She was the widow of Caleb Pitkin and brought an addition to Capt. Daniel’s large family, and one of her sons Caleb Pitkin, ]r., after a few years married Hannah one of his daughters. Her Pitkin sons settled at Marshfield, Vt. Capt. Daniel came three times tovisit his children and grandchildren and Jan. 7, 1797 she came too. She d. May 14, 1797, 2e. 57. Capt. Daniel m. (4) in 1798, No. 906.

906. Margery Spencer, b. about 1749. He was Sergeant in 1775 in a company of minute men commanded by Col. George Pitkin, who, on the news of the alarm at Lexington marched from Hartford to the relief of Boston. He was also selectman for East Hartford in 1786 on for two years. His house was in Spencer Lane, East Hartford. The gravestones of Capt. Daniel and his four wives remain legible to this day in the old East Hartford burial ground. The last
two read “In memory of Capt. Daniel Marsh who died Sept. 28, 1818 in the 87 year of his age.” “In memory of Margery, relict of Capt. Daniel Marsh who died Dec. 4, 1822, aged 73.” Children :
