b- Hartford, Ct., Oct. 20, 1712, son of John and Elizabeth (Pitkin) Marsh, (lohn, John), possibly in 1732 in. No. 622.
622. Sarah Webster. Although his father’s record reads “ John Marsh and Sarah Webster were married Aug. 20, 1733, by me, John Marsh, J. P.” Capt. ]ohn4 went to Litchfield with his father and family when a boy of nine, in 1821, and res. there most of his life. He was selectman ten years from 1755 and although Captain himself, had some spicy times in the revolution, as selectman in 1777 when his brother’s son was suspected of toryism, as the young man’s father Col. Ebenezer had been in 1763. (See History Litchfield, pages 83 and 1o7~9 and 114.)
