• Family History: From Internet posting on Ancestry.com. Edmund (died 1852 age 83) and Martha Gane: 3 Sons Christianing 31 Dec 1801 in Lympsham England

John Howell Gane, William Cook Gane, George ? Gane. They also had a brother named James Gane.

Later (1820) William and John changed their last names to Cook due to inheriting property from William Cook in Lympsham England. My Great Great Great Grandfather was William Cook Cook (Gane) married Ann.

His daughter Martha Gane married Henry Brunt Hort (father Thomas; mother Jane both living in Bristol)
children: Thomas, Jane, Henry (born 1848), Martha Ann

Son: Henry came to NY in 1873. Later married Mary Louise Gray Oswego NY.

Son: Arby L. Hort (born 1888) had a son John Arby Hort Sr. (born 1932) had a son John Arby Hort Jr. (born 1956). that would be me. I have a son Justin D.

There are a lot of things I left out of course.
Does anyone have info on more who went where?

• Death: Oswego Palladium Times, Thursday, Page Thirteen, 13 Feb 1941, Oswego Town, Oswego, New York. HENRY HORT

Henry Hort, 92, died suddenly early Thursday afternoon at the family home, West Fifth and Clark streets, following an illness of several weeks due to advanced age.

Mr. Hort was born in England and came to Oswego when 16 years of age. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. He had a wide acquaintance in Oswego where he passed his long life and was highly esteemed by neighbors and friends.

Surviving are his widow, the form Miss Mary Harber; three sons Arby S. Hort, Oswego, Francis Hort, Rochester, and Henry Hort Jr., of Syracuse; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Combs, Oswego; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

The Rev. H. S. Sizer, rector of the Church of the Evangelists, officiated at the funeral of Henry Hort, held at the family home, 3 Clark street, Sunday afternoon at 2. The bearers were grandsons, including Andrew, Nathaniel and Arby Combs, George A. Hort, Frank Keene and Earle Neild. Interment was in Rural cemetery.
